MTB PERFORTMANCE ACADEMY

The Academy is a 12 week race focused training program to prep 14-18 year olds for High School and the step up to NATIONAL SERIES racing. We’ll jump into training with 2 online classes + 3-5 additional days of riding on your own each week, then we add intermittent weekend mini-camps to pull it all together. The workouts are designed to build the fitness and skills needed for competition. Anticipate 8 – 14 hours per week of total training.

This is a race focused Development Program. Each Academy offers a 3 day CAMP focused on skills development and doing some longer endurance rides. The Academy is built on progressive overload, high quality workouts and solid feedback. Along the way we’ll do some additional testing and lots of skill work.

ACADEMY CAMPS

Spend 2.5 days learning the ins and outs of riding fast! Our Academy Camps are built on the Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) model that takes each rider where they’re at and moves them along the continuum of competence in core areas like turning, braking, shifting, and pedaling. We pre-test riders to set baselines and then follow a fully developed curriculum over both the weekend and the season. A sample schedule:

FRI: 4p Performance Testing – Online and coach directed, we’ll test three different time values in just over an hour, then we’ll throw it in the analyzer and view the report. After testing we’ll spend an hour on zoom walking thru the essentials of rider development and progression, what all the numbers show us, and how to use them in your riding

SAT: 9 – 11a Baseline Testing / Skills Work. We test across different focus areas in person: Stopping, Turning, Pedaling, Technical and Tactical.. Then from 12a – 2p we’ll do a longer endurance focused ride to finish up.

SUN: 9 – 12p Skills Part 2, a re-test, and a bit more endurance riding. Then we’ll look over each riders testing report review their riding and plan for upcoming races.
